Tactile Ceramics: Slow Forms in Raw Stoneware

Cool stoneware clay has an immediate way of slowing down a busy week. Working entirely by hand without a wheel—using pinching and coiling techniques—we shape vessels that retain the quiet trace of the hand.
Set in a sunlit studio near Grădina Icoanei, this evening explores the quiet beauty of speckled raw stoneware. You will shape two complementary objects: a sculptural vessel or jewelry dish and a low table vase.
Following hand-shaping and surface finishing with natural sea sponges and wooden ribs, your pieces remain at the studio for slow drying, bisque firing, and glazing in warm satin ivory. We will notify you by email once they are ready for collection (approximately 14 days).
The session is paired with natural wine, warm sourdough, cold-pressed olive oil, and aged cheeses.

What is included at your place setting
- ✓1.5 kg of high-fire speckled stoneware clay and all hand-building tools.
- ✓Raw linen studio apron for use during the session.
- ✓Two kiln firings (bisque and glaze firing at 1240°C) with food-safe satin glazes.
- ✓Archival tissue wrapping when your finished pieces are ready for pick-up.
- ✓Natural wine, sparkling water, and artisanal aperitivo platter.
Important participation notes
- 01Shorter nails are recommended for comfort when pinching and smoothing stoneware clay.
- 02Clay washes cleanly from hands and clothing with warm water.
- 03Fired ceramic pieces will be ready for collection two weeks after the workshop.
